Hammer Glamour is a new Hammer-authorised book from Marcus Hearn (co-author of The Hammer Story
the authorised history of Hammer Films). It is a lavish new coffee table book published by Titan Books,
packed with rare and previously unpublished photographs, gathered
from Hammer's archive and private collections all around the globe. It also features many new
interviews and is a celebration of Hammer's female stars including Ingrid Pitt, Martine Beswick,
Caroline Munro, Barbara Shelley, Joanna Lumley, Nastassja Kinski, and Raquel Welch.

The British Fantasy Society held its annual convention, Fantasycon 2009, in
Nottingham, UK, over the weekend September 18–20, 2009.
Its Guests of Honour were Jasper Fforde, Brian Clemens and Gail Z Martin. The Master of Ceremonies was Ian Watson.

Each year, the Horror Writers Association presents the Bram Stoker Awards for Superior
Achievement, named in honor of Bram Stoker, author of the seminal horror work, Dracula.
This year, the awards were presented at the Burbank Marriott Hotel, near Los Angeles, California.
